Here is a list of things we did today:- We joined Tom Hanks as he engaged in a non-stop excitement rollercoaster involving angels, demons, and Ewan Mcgregor.
-We joined Christian Bale as he engaged in post apocolyptic combat with computer generated Arnold Schwarzenegger and evil robots bent on destroying humanity
-We spent lots of money on planes, trains and automobiles, minus the automobiles.

Ryanair and Easyjet have a bad reputation. If you pay extra you fly inside the airplane. If you only pay half the extra, you travel standing in the aisle or in the baggage compartment; and if you don't pay extra you get left at the gate. Also, both airlines could go bankrupt any day. Why not get to Amsterdam on the ferry from Harwich to the Hook of Holland?? It costs less and you see a bit of the countryside. Grandpa
I love you both.

two strategies might be: pick the eurrail route first, then fill in sights and activities from guidebooks; pick sights and activities you can get to by rail, then plan the route and timings. Either strategy can obviate costly air travel. If you do have to fly, be sure to plant lots of dandelions to offset your carbon footprint. I do, and my neighbours really appreciate it!
