The Tour

Hello from Edinburgh,

We've been here two nights now and it already feels like a week. We've spent the past day calling countless people to see about flats.

Funny story about that...one lady, Debbie, was renting a flat for extra cheap. So we run around to about ten different urine stained telephone boxes trying to call her, every one broken. When we finally do reach her, she says that a bed collapsed through the roof of the spare room and she needs to file an insurance claim, so she can't see us.

We've also met the Sleeping Man, sort of. He left this morning. I swear to God, that man did not spend more than 4 hours awake over the past 48 hours. Went to bed at 9 in the evening and got up at 8 PM. Then he went back to sleep, three hours later, and slept through to the next morning. It made me feel sick.

So despite a penis on my face and having to defend the keep, we're in a pretty good place at the Castle Rock Hostel. We've even run into a few Canadians who are also living here long term.

Because we're in such a good place right now, please enjoy our extra special bonus video: Hill Climbing!

Cheers,

John from Canada

If you're reading The Scotsman then you'll know about the protests and strikes against cheap foreign labour. Between that and the snow, it's like they knew you were coming...enjoy!

if you want to see what real snow looks like, I'm still digging for the glass on the front lawn.

Stuart, you can't have that many....
Looks like you're having fun across the pond. Don't worry 'bout the snow: just because it's not as easy to shovel as rain doesn't mean it's better.

Lookin' forward to Belfast!

When we lived in Edinburgh the Edinburgh Evening News was a better paper than the Scotsman for local advertisements like flats. Good hunting! Grandfather

Hi Stuart And John From Canada. I Will Now Be Changing The Format Of My LEAVE YOUR COMMENT Commentary. From Now On, All Of My Words Will Start With Capitals.

I Loved Your Video Today. It Made Me Laugh So Hard!!! I Heard On The CBC Today About The Snow In The UK And They Were Ripping On You Guys. I laughed Hard At That Too.

Your Bonus Video Makes Me Say "That's What She Said". Haha.

Enjoy The Snow. Please Make Me A Little Snowman.

(PS As Part Of My New Commenting Formula, I Will Be Commenting On My WORD VERIFICATION Phony Word) Today's Phony Word Is DOUCT. I Would Like To Point Out That This Is Only Two Letters Away From Being Douche. And That's My Phony Word Commentary.

Hello Sirs,

We are Liz and Liz, fellow travelers from Canada and new friends of Kirsty and Sarah.
We wanted to express our deep admiration of your blog, (it is beautiful), your trip to Europe, and also of your choice of accommodation in Edinburgh. The Castle Rock is basically the best hostel ever (we're totally hostel experts) and we're envious.
We're curious to know if you've been to the Castle Arms just down the street to try their Haggis Balls. Mmmm. They taste slightly like urine :)
If you're looking for other places to go in Europe, we would HIGHLY recommend Budapest, taking a day trip to Pompeii (the ruined city in Italy), Prague, and for sure Paris (if you're looking for something cheap, check out the Hôtel Montmartre, it was totally amazing, if you can get past the reviews). If you need any recommendations regarding where to stay in other cities, we would love to help.
We hope your trip is amazing, you guys are hilarious, and you can definitely bust a move.

Cheers boys!

Liz and Liz from Canada
